Why the Hammer and Sickle?
Because our program is the return of the repressed. In the time of Lenin and Trotsky, when the workers were still more intelligent because they were without TV, the Hammer and Sickle stood as symbols of the unity of the productively active, the workers and peasants. With the Stalinist degeneration, itself the result of imperialist encirclement and the inherited technical backwardness of Russia, whose inhabitants had paid a damn high price in blood through their revolutionary efforts to achieve the universal human goal of "the greatest happiness of the greatest percentage" but were abandoned by all their neighbors because of the reverse efforts of German Social Democracy and thus bled white, their goals became unattainable. The destruction caused by the war and the country's poverty led to the degeneration of the new workers' government at the first opportunity. As a result, Lenin's and our symbol became the bogeyman of a regime of terror before which every "politically correct" inhabitant of the Western Bloc had to cross himself.
As much as this degeneration had indeed brought about a regime of terror – for it had the difficult main task of wiping out any memory of Lenin's aims, and "unfortunately" millions of Russians remembered them – that was not the reason why the Western Bloc cankered by Social Democracy and its continuing ruling class made this symbol a kind of child's scare: in truth, the reason was, just as with Stalin, the memory of the freedom-oriented and rational goals for which it had stood and which are unattainable otherwise than by breaking the previous class power knowing all the tricks just like our present one. Now, after the downfall of the Eastern Bloc, irreversibly degenerated since the Stalinist derailment and suffocated by a militarily tenfold superior enemy but whose existence nevertheless secretly reminded of its "forbidden" origins, now, with the final global victory of US imperialism respectively the "400 families" of the United States, the Western wolf ruled by them does not need to be meak and mild anymore and can close again the "shop window of the West", which had been opened prudently and secretly unwillingly. However, for the inhabitants of the developed European industrialized countries this means: no more collective agreements, no more medical care, no more secure pensions, no more mobility and no more affordable and heatable housing, in other words, no more achievements of the organized but no longer existing labor movement. In other words: mass impoverishment, and this is perhaps noticed by the few propaganda-resistant people among the non-property owners.
Time to reconnect to the original meaning of these symbols – historically with curves, but not so difficult, right?
